Prabowo Welcomes Brazilian President’s Business Leaders Plan in Indonesia

President of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, enthusiastically welcomed Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva’s initiative to bring hundreds of Brazilian entrepreneurs to Indonesia. This statement was made following a bilateral meeting between the two leaders at Palácio do Planalto in Brasília. Prabowo expressed his optimism that this move will accelerate tangible cooperation between the two nations, particularly in the areas of trade and investment, leading to real and concrete partnerships.

During their meeting, Prabowo highlighted the common interests and significant potential for economic collaboration between Indonesia and Brazil. Both countries, as he pointed out, are large, populous, and abundant in natural resources and biodiversity, making them ideal partners for mutual benefit. He acknowledged the importance of turning signed agreements into actionable initiatives that would truly enhance cooperation.

Prabowo also commended Brazil’s advancements in agriculture and bioenergy, expressing Indonesia’s eagerness to learn from their experiences. He praised Brazil for setting a positive example in biofuel usage and agricultural innovation, highlighting the valuable knowledge that Indonesia could gain from Brazilian expertise. Furthermore, he appreciated Lula’s support for Indonesia’s plan to send technical teams to study Brazil’s innovative technologies and modernization efforts.

Apart from his visit to Brasília, Prabowo was in Brazil to attend the BRICS Summit in Rio de Janeiro. President Lula is expected to visit Indonesia in October, with Prabowo promising a grand birthday celebration in Jakarta for Lula’s upcoming 80th birthday. This visit symbolizes the strong partnership and friendship between Indonesia and Brazil, setting the stage for further collaboration and shared prosperity.
