He encouraged citizens to celebrate Independence Day with enthusiasm and togetherness by flying the Red and White flag at homes, schools, offices, and public spaces. The red symbolizes the blood shed for freedom, while the white represents the purity of the soul.
President Prabowo also called for meaningful celebrations beyond ceremonial observance, urging people to engage in community-driven initiatives that have a real impact on society. He suggested activities such as mutual cooperation, competitions, cultural performances, and social service events, especially for the underserved. The theme for this year’s celebration is “Unity, Sovereignty, People’s Welfare, and an Advanced Indonesia,” reflecting the country’s direction and commitment to progress through unity. The President’s call is part of a broader national spirit commemorating eight decades of Indonesian independence.
