The Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) Program has been proven to enhance children’s concentration levels, improving their short-term memory and contributing to sustained learning motivation. Research conducted in Aceh and studies by the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) showed that students who received MBG demonstrated increased concentration and improved cognitive performance, especially those who missed breakfast. The program has been found to boost attendance motivation and concentration in schools like State Vocational School 6 (SMK Negeri 6) in Medan. Concentration is vital for brain development during a child’s formative years and can be influenced by various factors such as learning motivation, nutrition, psychological well-being, and physiological conditions. Key nutrients like protein, iron, and omega-3 fatty acids are essential for brain development and cognitive function, particularly memory. The MBG Program aims to address children’s nutritional needs to enhance cognitive potential and intelligence, although challenges such as unhealthy consumption behavior among children and limited access to nutritious foods persist. Strengthening collective efforts in supporting the Free Nutritious Meals Program is crucial for delivering lasting benefits for future generations and society as a whole.
