National Nutrition Agency (BGN) is actively promoting local employment by recruiting workers for the Nutritional Fulfillment Service Units (SPPG) from individuals in extreme and general poverty. Special Staff to BGN, Redy Hendra Gunawan, shared that a minimum of 30% of SPPG personnel will be chosen from underprivileged households to comply with the President’s directive to ensure the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) Program contributes to job creation. Currently, there are 2,378 SPPG units established in collaboration with 6,076 local economic institutions, with 93,572 community members volunteering in the program. The MBG Program has benefitted over 7.4 million individuals across the country, including students, pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, toddlers, and more. In a bid to broaden the program’s impact, BGN plans to introduce an additional 2,401 SPPG units in the next 10 days, aiming to reach around 15 million beneficiaries. This move showcases a significant effort to support job creation and address nutritional needs in marginalized communities.
