President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, welcomed General Bryan Patrick Fenton, Commander of the United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM), at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta. The meeting between the two leaders focused on enhancing defense cooperation between Indonesia and the United States.
The atmosphere of the meeting was cordial, with both leaders expressing their commitment to strengthening the partnership between the two countries in defense. Prabowo warmly greeted General Fenton with a military salute, highlighting their mutual respect.
During the meeting, General Fenton presented Prabowo with the USSOCOM Honor Medal, recognizing his exceptional leadership in advancing U.S.-Indonesia defense relations, particularly in the field of special operations. General Fenton praised Prabowo for his visionary leadership, which has bolstered bilateral defense ties and international collaboration, especially in areas such as counterterrorism, strategic cooperation, and regional security.
Accompanying President Prabowo at the meeting were Minister of Foreign Affairs Sugiono, Minister of Defense Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya. The ceremony concluded with General Fenton placing the USSOCOM Honor Medal around President Prabowo’s neck and presenting him with a ceremonial gift.
