President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, embarked on a journey to Bandung, West Java, on Wednesday evening via the Whoosh high-speed train, accompanied by members of the public from Halim Station in Jakarta. The President arrived at the station around 7:45 p.m. local time, donning a cream-colored outfit with a matching jacket and navy blue cap, seamlessly blending in with fellow passengers as he proceeded through the ticket gate and up the escalator to the platform. His unexpected presence sparked surprise and excitement among commuters, with Prabowo warmly engaging with onlookers as he made his way to the platform. Prior to boarding the train, he graciously posed for photos with the Whoosh crew, and at exactly 8:00 p.m., the high-speed train departed for Tegalluar Station in Bandung. President Prabowo is set to inaugurate the 2025 Indonesian Convention on Science, Technology, and Industry (KSTI) at the Sasana Budaya Ganesa (Sabuga), Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB), from August 7 to 9. He is scheduled to deliver the keynote address at the convention, alongside Nobel Laureate Konstantin Novoselov and Minister of Education, Science, and Technology Brian Yuliarto. With the theme “Economic Growth and Equity Through Mastery of Science and Technology,” KSTI 2025 is positioned to serve as an important strategic forum on both the national and international levels.
