by -224 Views

President Prabowo Subianto has always had a special connection with farmers, as stated by Dedek Prayudi, a Senior Expert at the Presidential Communication Office (PCO). This bond can be traced back to key moments in Prabowo’s life, such as his time as a military officer and leading the Indonesian Farmers Harmony Association (HKTI). During a recent corn harvest event in Jenggalu Village, Bengkulu Province, Uki emphasized the importance of the food security program initiated by President Prabowo and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka.

With the global situation requiring Indonesia to reduce reliance on foreign food supplies, Uki highlighted the significance of supporting local farmers to increase production. The harvest yielded about 10 tons from 1.5 hectares, showcasing the potential growth with government assistance in the form of subsidized fertilizers, pesticides, and agricultural machinery. Uki urged the village head to expedite administrative processes for farmers to access subsidized fertilizers and maximize government support.

Kelik Budianan from the National Food Agency also expressed support for President Prabowo’s initiative, collaborating with the State Logistics Agency to absorb farmers’ corn harvests. The integration of supply chains between farmers and livestock breeders is underway to ensure favorable prices for crops, feed costs, and livestock. This effort was acknowledged by local officials and representatives from various organizations, emphasizing the importance of enhancing production capacity and farmer happiness in agricultural communities.
