Honda WR-V receives a unique makeover from Japanese tuner DAMD, drawing inspiration from the Jeep Cherokee XJ. This small SUV, known as the “Winsome Runabout Vehicle,” may not stand out much in the crowded market with its front-wheel-drive layout and continuously variable transmission. However, DAMD has cleverly infused this forgotten Honda crossover with a stronger personality reminiscent of the second-generation Cherokee.
The WR-V now sports retro design elements such as rectangular halogen headlights flanking a Jeep-like grille with only six slots. Any more, and DAMD might find themselves in legal trouble. LED daytime running lights below the grille add a touch of Mercedes G-Class nostalgia. The side panels are adorned with imitation wood trim, embracing the aesthetics of the 1980s and early 1990s.
While the rear lights remain unchanged, a black plastic trim piece gives a nod to the vertical XJ design. The Honda badge is swapped for the REVERB logo, denoting the official name of the package. The raised suspension and beefy 16-inch BF Goodrich All-Terrain T/A K03 tires give the WR-V a more rugged appearance.
Inside, customers can opt for a retro-themed square pattern upholstery, extending to the front and rear center consoles and front seat pockets. Despite the unconventional combination, Japanese tuners continue to cater to the demand for unique and custom cosmetic upgrades.
