President Prabowo Subianto showed his appreciation to all officers and participants of the 80th Independence Day ceremony at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta. He commended the discipline, order, and enthusiasm displayed throughout the day, expressing pride in their efforts. The president thanked everyone for their dedication, highlighting the orderly and spirited conduct of the ceremony.
Colonel (Infantry) Slamet, the Ceremony Commander, was tasked with conveying Prabowo’s personal gratitude to each participant. The president emphasized his pride in the well-organized and enthusiastic event, asking for his appreciation to be extended to everyone involved. In accordance with his instructions, majority of the invitations were given to the public.
The day’s activities included a Flag and Proclamation Procession from the National Monument to the Palace, followed by a People’s Festival featuring cultural performances and free food offerings. The festivities culminated in a fireworks display around Monas. The celebration will reach its peak with the United Independence Carnival in 2025, spanning from Monas to the HI Roundabout and Semanggi.
